Butterfly breeding

Start a new hobby, enrich your garden with “flying flowers” and contribute at the same time to butterfly conservation.

Butterflies have a fascinating life cycle in the stages egg, larva, pupa and fully developed butterfly which makes it to a great hobby to breed butterflies. Not to talk about how beautiful they are! By having nectar flowers to the fully developed butterflies and host plants to their larvae in your garden you can also enrich your garden with “flying flowers”. In this way you can also contribute to butterfly conservation.

It works excellent to breed butterflies also in a smaller space, e.g. on a balcony. Also perfect for a school who wants to follow the fascinating life cycle of butterflies.

One of Sweden’s (and Europe’s?) most beautiful and largest butterfly, the Swallowtail (Papilio Machaon), is with some patience and care relatively easy to breed.

Or, maybe you just would like to release these fantastic butterflies in your garden. If your garden is well stocked with nectar flowers the chance is good that the butterflies will stay or return.

I’m selling pupae and eggs (depending on season) to Swallowtail (Papilio Machaon, Swedish subspecies) with pertaining host plant seeds for breeding.
